Voltswagen: Πρωταπριλιάτικο ή πραγματικό?

Η Volkswagen Αμερικής κυκλοφόρησε ότι μετονομάζεται σε Voltswagen, για να δώσει έμφαση στο ότι από εδώ και πέρα είναι όχι «το αυτοκίνητο του λαού», όπως εμφατικά είχε βαφτιστεί πριν από 66 χρόνια στη Γερμανία, αλλά το «το ηλεκτρικό αυτοκίνητο του λαού».

Μάλιστα και το WARC, αυτός ο εξαιρετικά σοβαρός οργανισμός, το αναφέρει σαν γεγονός, λέγοντας μεταξύ άλλων, σε μία εκτεταμένη ανάλυση:

The “Voltswagen” badge will be added to the exterior of its EVs. Vehicles that rely on traditional combustion-engine technology, by contrast, will retain the current VW emblem and dark-blue colouration. (WARC).

Μέχρι στιγμής η εταιρεία δεν έχει πάρει επίσημη θέση, αλλά καθώς όλα δείχνουν, πρόκειται για ένα εξαιρετικό marketing trick, μία όπως θα λέγαμε growth hacking ενέργεια, που δημιουργεί πολύ μεγάλα κύματα πίσω της. Μία επικοινωνία αξίας δεκάδων εκατομμυρίων, που υλοποιήθηκε με το κόστος μίας καθημερινής ενέργειας Δημοσίων Σχέσεων.

Το Reuters τώρα είναι κατηγορηματικό: «The German automaker’s news release saying it would change its name to “Voltswagen of America” was a marketing stunt aimed at drawing attention to the company’s electric vehicle plans, the three sources said.
